With the New York State budget proceedings in full swing, the New York City budget process is just beginning. Mayor Eric Adams has already outlined his major priorities in a proposed $102.7 billion preliminary budget – one that calls for “fiscal responsibility” amidst “the perfect storm of slowing revenue growth and rising costs.” The Mayor is proposing the elimination of thousands of unfilled vacancies in city agencies. This training will help advocates identify both effective strategies and their next steps for budget advocacy in this political climate. We will:
