In July 2014, the Advocacy Institute is holding it’s second month-long course with each week focusing on different topics and enlisting input from engaging guest speakers. The curriculum will include how to plan a legislative campaign, how to target power brokers, and how to navigate the city and state legislative and budget process.
Woven into all sessions is a commitment to interactive participation, the use of relevant case studies, and understanding the dynamics of privilege and oppression in legislative advocacy. Speakers at the Course include: seasoned advocates from an array of organizations, current and former government staffers, current and former elected officials, journalists, and academics.
We’re adding new content around campaign planning, more interactive case studies based on the legislative campaigns of participating organizations, and opportunities to choose between sessions based on your individual and/or organizational interest.
