Advocacy Institute Membership is the only social justice network built to power legislative advocacy campaigns across issues, sectors, and the State of New York.

We’ve built a community of government insiders, seasoned advocates, journalists, organizers and funders committed to justice and dignity for all New Yorkers. Our cohort model and intimate trainings foster collaborative networks that develop trust across issue areas, sectors, and regions.

Below is a list of current organizational members.

What Our Community Says

The Advocacy Institute’s curriculum on the state budget helped us understand the importance of timing.

We changed our strategy because of what we learned. But the on-call support available through Membership — the ability to get advice at any stage in the process — that helped us apply that learning to maximum (and winning!) effect. Advocacy Institute Membership supports the real-time collaboration and conversation that advocates need to win.

The Advocacy Institute tools and staff are simply exceptional.

We are now ruined for working with any other consultants and any other data tools– these folks and all of their work are mind-blowing. Tracking our dozens of different campaigns and hundreds of contacts with elected officials used to feel overwhelming and frankly impossible. But working with the Advocacy Institute has already solved some of the most acute pain points we were suffering as an organization.

The Advocacy Institute is the best and fastest way to learn

how to be an effective and successful advocate – and also a great way to network and meet other activists.

The Advocacy Institute’s training is extremely comprehensive, presented in an accessible and interactive manner with dynamic facilitation

by experts and leaders who are deeply passionate about the legislative process, and keenly aware of the dynamics in the city and state. The content of the training will prompt you to examine your relationships with your grantees and how you perceive the legislative process more broadly.

it is a really gratifying way to see my dollars leveraged for power.
